Workshop
As journalism faces new challenges driven by platform dynamics and AI, strong relationships with local communities are becoming more important than ever. In this interactive session, we’ll share lessons learned from building community-centered local journalism and create space for an open exchange. Whether you’re a local creator, media founder, or part of an established newsroom, bring the challenges you’re currently facing around community engagement in local journalism, what’s worked for you, and what hasn’t. We’ll share practical lessons from our own work, discuss different approaches to community building, and learn from each other. The goal is simple: leave with new ideas, useful feedback, and connections to people working on similar challenges in their own communities.
Workshop leader: Svenja Schilling – Community Manager at CORRECTIV.StartHub / beabee. In her role she cultivates a vibrant network for anyone wanting to launch a community-centric media project at the local level.
CORRECTIV is a German based public-interest media organization that strengthens democracy. Amongst their projects is the CORRECTIV.StartHub. A central hub for anyone wanting to launch their own community-centric local media project, offering learning resources, networking opportunities and technical infrastructure.

SVDJ X NLJF in de Media van Morgen zaal
Tijdens het Nederlands Journalistiek Festival op 18 en 19 september 2026 in Deventer hosten we als Stimuleringsfonds voor de Journalistiek onze eigen zaal: De Media van Morgen zaal in de Bibliotheek. Op het podium nodigen we tijdens verschillende sessies vernieuwers uit die werken aan een toekomstbestendige journalistiek.
